Moving In, Spinning

You know your husband loves you…

When he delays his basement floor hatch project to come to your Saturday morning spin class.

Mark is a road rider. He’s never taken an indoor cycling class.

We rocked out during our 60 minutes on the bike with jumps, push-ups, hills and sprints.

Mama-to-be Kelly Belly killed it while Mark struggled to finish.

image

Not gonna lie…I was surprised that my hubby can lift a hundred pounds of drywall but barely get through my spin class.

I think I earned a new level of respect from him.

Shout out to my friends who filled my class with AWESOME ENERGY! Whoop whoop! 🙂

Moving In

The devil is ice skating.

It’s as cold in hell as it is in Pittsburgh because the unimaginable just happened.

My mother got a cellphone. Her very first one.

image

I immediately received her first selfie (with her favorite people).

This occasion deserves a PARADE…I’m currently scouting locations. 🙂

On the home front, Mark and I are painting this weekend and hope to refinish the downstairs floors in about 2 weeks. We are very excited.

image

I also taught my first spin class.

My weekday morning riders rocked the beat and rocked my HEART!

Spinning right along

My spinning instructor training is going really well.

I’m sure many of you don’t care, and you can stop reading HERE.

My training sessions happen in the early mornings. That means I drink as much coffee as I can in my car.

image

Right now, I’m training with two studios…one in Shadyside and one in Mt. Lebanon. (They share my love of sweat)

image

Tired and sore don’t even begin to explain how I’m feeling, but the LOVE I feel on the bike makes it all worth it. I’m also obsessed with my rice cake/peanut butter/strawberry jam combo I eat after.

image

I start teaching my own classes in about 2 weeks.

A wise friend once told me you gotta stop thinking about it and just do it.

Or maybe I got that from Nike…I’ve been getting some pretty sweet new workout gear. 🙂

ilove2sweat gets LITERAL

Since this blog is named after my LOVE of a good sweat sesh, I am going to share with you my latest passion.

image

I LOVE to spin (aka indoor cycling.)

I do it all the time, and not since I played tennis and basketball in high school have I loved a sport so much!

image

My sister and most of my friends love to spin. We are spintastic spinners who talk about spinning all the time. (So annoying, I know)

After years of several instructor friends telling me I should become a spin teacher, I finally did it.

image

This past weekend, I went to an intensive 9-hour training day in Ohio that included two 90-minute rides with a master spinning instructor.

image

My legs are a bit wobbly today, but I got my certification. Now, I must get certified in First Aid, CPR & AED.

I already have an EPIC playlist for my first class. 🙂

Proud Mary & Crazy Mary

My sister and I are HUGE spinning fans…nothing like riding 25 miles on a bike and never getting anywhere. 🙂

image

We took some spinning classes in Avalon, NJ while we were at the beach and our one instructor was called “Crazy Mary.” She was probably 60 years old, had ZERO body fat and went so hard and fast, we both thought we were going to die. It was awesome!

image

Then we went from Crazy Mary to Proud Mary…as in Tina Turner.

image

My mom and our friend, Cathy, love to boogie down and we always have a dance party at the beach.

image

All that exertion called for some burgers, pizza and steak salad.

image

Looking at us, my dad said he has three beautiful daughters…how gorgeous does my mom look?!

image

We ended the night at Springer’s ice cream shop (my dad’s FAVE) and polished off a couple of sundaes. I’m heading back to the ‘Burgh soon (where my hubs has been hard at work on the house) and I can’t wait to see this face!!!! —->

Happy wife. Happy life.

I’ve never considered myself “high maintenance.”

image

My sister can attest that I’d rather go makeup free. As a kid, I was a TOTAL tomboy who couldn’t be bothered with makeup or hair dryers.

That has since changed because HD television can be very unkind…who would have ever thought PRIMER, TONER and BRONZER would be part of my vocabulary?!

image

While I really love getting all grungy and dirty with this home improvement project, I’m craving some “me” time.

Mark is somehow able to work on the house for hours on end, day after day…but I still need time to go to spin class…

image

Get a mani/pedi…

image

And watch the Real Housewives of Orange County.

image

I kinda feel guilty that I’m “wasting” this time on something other than our house.

But we all need to keep our sanity, right? And I’m pretty sure the saying is true…”Happy wife, happy life.” 🙂
